Animal Crossing New Horizons has been released for the Nintendo Switch. At a whopping £50, is it really worth it? Should we be buying it for this amount of money?

There are many reasons why I believe animal crossing is worth the money. As you may know in 2020 the United Kingdom went into lockdown. Animal crossing has allowed you to connect with a friend virtually. Visiting each other’s islands, making it possible for you to do virtual activities together.
Another reason why it is worth the money is it allows a lot of creativity. Like the other animal crossing games, you can build up your own island. You can make friends with other characters. It really encourages your creative side to come it.

On the contrast, it is very addictive. You could see this becoming your life. Also, you can only have one island per switch, so you and your family would need to share.

A strong franchise in Japan for many years, Persona 5 was the first of its series to truly delight Western gamers. Think about it… it sold millions of copies and won critical acclaim. Put simply it was big news.

Set in present-day Tokyo, where you experience the hustle and bustle of everyday life, you play as Joker, a student at Shujin Academy falsely accused of assault. Joker is also a kind of superhero – he must attack the minds of adults with malicious intent to change their minds. (If it sounds a little weird, that’s because it actually is). Persona 5 Royal is an odd game with touches of humour and addictive qualities, but it’s also a rather grand edition of the classic. Some will love it, some will hate it. But it will introduce new characters, new story elements, new boss battles and so much more. It’s well worth buying though and we’d be keen to see what you think!

Breath of the Wild 2 is going to be an exciting yet sad release because it’s the end of an era. Finishing a glorious game is a bit like returning from a fantastic holiday. It’s sobering. That said, you will have the chance to at least meet these brilliant characters again. The sequel has only been teased by Nintendo, and it might not make a 2020 release but let’s hope it does. That said, we can say that we’d expect more amazing battles as well as a finale between good and evil. Who will triumph? It would also be cool to see some more expansive, beautiful landscapes to travel and more wickedly creative puzzles – both big and small – to solve once and for all.

The latest trailer for Red Dead Redemption is leading to rather mixed reviews, or should we say pre-release thoughts. Some say that it does not look as exciting as the original and will not be as big a hit as the last game, whilst others believe it will be one of the best games ever created! We’d love to know your thoughts so please do let us know, but here’s how we see things panning out. We believe that the trailer is not a true representation of the game and there will be so many cool features, characters and twists that they simply do not want people to know just yet, so of course, the trailer is going to be slightly basic. That said, there will be more material released as we build up to its release and you can’t deny the excitement every time you hear about this upcoming open world game. In terms of sales, it will not fail, there is simply too much hype around the release, and rightly so!

Wasteland 3 is an upcoming role-playing game that’s generating a lot of hype online. The main reason for this is because of the success of Wasteland 2, and it’s now been 4 years since the last release, so many gamers are extremely excited to play this game next year. What we know so far is that the game is likely to land in gaming stores in 2019, whilst it is being developed using the Unity game engine. It is likely to be set in the frozen hinterlands of Colorado, and we know this because a short trailer accompanied the game’s crowdfunding launch recently, so it already gives an idea as to where they want to go with this game. We’re confident the game will become just as good, if not better than the previous title and we can already see that the crowdfunding campaign has got off to a very good start, so sit back and remain patient, but know the work on this one has begun.

After the release of the first sequel almost 4 years ago, the anticipation of the sequel’s predecessor comes to a close with the official announcement of the long-awaited State of Decay 2. Where’s the hype…what’s new?

Kick-ass Co-op

What’s a zombie survival game without some cool co-op zombie bashing fun during campaign missions to accompany it? State of Decay I…yes I said it. Fortunately, gamers will get to indulge in enticing storyline co-op with friends and family. Featuring handy updates such as the ability to signal allies to rally on your location with a flare gun or join in and establish a settlement together with comrades.

More Base Upgrade Options

Aside from the increase in the number of facilities, one can build on their area of the base, players now have more base upgrades with a variety of new and enhanced facilities.

Deeper Character Development

Ascend the hierarchy of your settlement. Raise settlers to power or simply appoint the ‘well deserved’ to be a leader. The choice is yours. The undertaking to prove them worthy to lead the retribution against the horde has just begun.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is set to be released on the 1^st December for the Nintendo Switch, and this time around we’re expecting a bigger storyline, more characters and faster gameplay.

So what do we know so far?

Well, as “the giant beasts march toward death, the last hope is a scavenger named Rex—and Pyra, a living weapon known as a Blade.” This opening line from the developers is enough to say what the new game will be like. Each titan will host its own distinct cultures, wildlife, and diverse regions to explore but you are Rex and Pyra, and it’s up to you to wander through your own world to bond with allies and fight with enemies. Another big aspect of the game is uncovering the history of Alrest and the mystery of its endless ocean of clouds, so there’s a common storyline running throughout to keep you entertained for hours.

Light Fall for the Nintendo Switch is quite a big deal. It was announced recently and a demo followed shortly after, but what’s great about this title is that players are able to complete platforming challenges by carefully managing the power of the ‘Shadow Core’.

This is a magical box at their feet that can be summoned any time to propel yourself into the air, and it’s an incredibly unique way of playing, so it’s like nothing else on the Switch right now. You also have a companion and narrator, Stryx the Night Owl, to help you explore the forgotten world of Numbra where darkness prevails. He’s like your guide and best friend at the same time, and together you’ll come across many weird yet wonderful characters. Some will be your companions, others will be your worst nightmares, so it’s up to you to make sure you look after yourself and make friends with the right characters along the way because only the strongest will survive.
